Katy Collins

Katy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Social Worker Supervisor with specialized training in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Healing, and grief work. As an integrative and holistic therapist, Katy incorporates many different theoretical frameworks such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Healing, Internal Family Systems, and Attachment Theory into her work. She draws from the teachings of Brene Brown, Gabor Mate, John Bowlby, and Dick Schwartz. She also incorporates meditation/mindfulness, breathwork and somatic movement into the therapeutic experience.

After obtaining her undergraduate degree in Elementary/Secondary Education from Texas State University, she worked for eight years teaching students in elementary through high school. This experience led her to return for her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston, which she obtained in 2010. Katy has practiced in outpatient and residential treatment settings for adolescents and adults providing individual, group, and family therapy, and has experience working in crisis intervention throughout the Memorial Hermann Hospital system. Through her years in practice, she has treated individuals struggling with sexual trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, treatment-resistant mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders and maladaptive behaviors such as non-suicidal self injury, substance abuse, anger, eating disorders, and attachment disorders. With compassion and empathy, Katy utilizes an individualized therapeutic model to support each of her clients in finding their inner strength and truth, to help them connect with their path to a life that is truly fulfilling.

“Whether you desire resolution for a current life situation, are saddened by loss or grief, or want to cease stubborn patterns, therapy can be incredibly beneficial. Together we create a safe space for communication, connection and expression of your true, authentic self.”
